APRIL FIRST SATURDAY DRAWS OUTSTANDING AUDIENCE!
GCAC’s April 2nd First Saturday Art Walk marked the opening of our new Video Project Space, inaugurated with the single channel video work Polaris by Cuban artist collective Los Carpinteros; the third and final performance of Public Trust, 2016 by New York based artist Paul Ramirez Jonas; and the continued expansion of the wall drawing work Flux by Orange County based artist Jasmin Sanchez.
We had outstanding individuals in attendance to enjoy our projects, including: Elissa Auther, Windgate Research and Collections Curator, Museum of Arts and Design, NY; Bill Arning, Director, Contemporary Arts Museum (CAM), Houston; Adam Lerner, Director, Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Denver; Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido; Former Santa Ana Mayor Pro Tem Tom Lutz; Brooklyn based artist Noah Fischer; Los Angeles/NY Gallerist Jules Steindler; Santa Ana Gallerist Amy Fox; Los Angeles based artists Nancy Popp and Mariangeles Soto-Diaz; Recent GCAC exhibiting artist Leonard Correa; GCAC Artist-in-Residences Composer Lisa Bielawa, Cog-nate Collective (Amy Sanchez and Misael Diaz), and Gregory Purnhagen; assisting with Paul’s work, New York based artist Nate Carey, Cal State Fullerton acting student Casey Bowen, and GCAC artist-in-residence Becca Chernow; among many others of our communities.
