THE CAREFORCE
The CareForce is a public art project and mobile studio (the CareForce One) amplifying the voices of caregivers, America’s fastest growing workforce. Initiated by Studio REV– (lead artist: Marisa Morí¡n Jahn) with filmmaker Yael Melamede (SALTY Features) and key organizations transforming how we see carework (National Domestic Workers Alliance, Caring Across Generations), the CareForce‘s goal is to spark the public imagination to transform caregiving relationships.
On Saturday May 7th, Grand Central Art Center will showcase the CareForce One and its crew for creative outreach, interactive media, and group dance sessions (“CareForce Disco“) that connect participants to care-work using playful gestures (shaking the sheets, cleaning windows) that communicate the importance of building a movement by reaching out to fellow workers.
CareForce One’s appearance at Grand Central Art Center is made possible through a collaboration with Downtown Inc.
