Writers Workshop / Open Mic / Theatre-Making Spring Series
SOLO-PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP lead by KAREN ANZOATEGUI, Latina writer and Emmy nominated actor, Karen Anzoategui, provides a new lens to solo performance.
Performance-based theatre workshop aimed to help community members write, perform and choreograph their stories. Using movement, improvisational theatre and other choreographies of resistance to teach participants to stage their personal, political, and social setting; especially street theatre. Theatre experience not required.
KAREN ANZOATEGUI is a writer/performer/artivist/gender queer performer in Los Angeles most known for their solo show Ser! and received its world premiere at The LATC in collaboration with Louie Perez of Los Lobos, Walter Miranda and CAVA to write original music, garnering 5 LA Weekly nominations, including Best Solo Performer, won 2 LA Weekly awards for Original Music and Musical direction. www.karenanzoategui.com
